Joined the Machine Gun Corps (Infantry) 55th Battalion, Private, service number 119845. Formerly of the Welsh Regiment, Service Number 62041.1


Husband of Mrs. M. Jones, of Penllwynmarch Farm, Pentregethin Rd., Cwmbwrla, Swansea.  Died 18th April 1918, buried at grave reference, VII. J. 12., Brown’s Road Military Cemetery, Feestubert, Pas de Calais, France.2

“Mrs. Jones, of Pentregethin, Cwmbwrla, has received unofficial news that her husband, Private Thomas Jones, Machine Gun  Corps, fell in action on the 16th April, being shot in the head and instantly killed.  Prior to the war he carried on the business of coal merchant and haulage contractor at Brynhyfryd.”3
