Parents: William (Head), a Quarry Man? age 30, Born: Swansea, Glamorgan and Eliza Jenkins, age 24, Born: Pembroke, Daughters: Rachel A.  a Scholar, age 4 and Margaret, age 1. Sons: Thomas H. a Scholar, age 6. All spoke both Welsh and English, except Eliza who only spoke English.  Lived near Cockett Inn, Cockett, Swansea.1


Parents: William (Head), a Haulier (Coal), age 40 and Eliza, age 38. Daughters: Rachel A. age 14, Margaret age 10 and Elizabeth age 3. Sons: Thomas H. age 16, William J. age 9 and Frederick, age 6. All the family was born in Swansea, Glamorgan, except Elizabeth (Mother) who was born in Weston, Pembrokeshire, Wales.  Parents, William, Eliza and children, Thomas and Rachel, spoke both Welsh and English. Margaret, William L., Frederick and Elizabeth spoke only English. They lived at 5 Martell Street of Station Road, Cockett, Swansea.2


Parents: William (Head), Colliery Labourer, age 50 and Eliza Jenkins, age 46, Married: 27 years, 13 children born alive with 9 children still living. Daughter: Elizabeth, age 13, Beatrice M. age 7 and Olive Maud, age 4.  Sons: Thomas H. a Colliery Labourer, single, age 26, William J. a Colliery Labourer, single, age18, Frederick, a Colliery Labourer, single, age 15 and Samuel G. age 9. They now all spoke both, Welsh and English, and lived at 3 Station Road, Cockett, Swansea.3

DIED.

“Pte. W. J. Jenkins, of Station road, Cockett, has died of pneumonia in France. Previous to joining the Army he worked as a miner at Garngoch Pits.”4
