PTE: CRIDGE, ROBERT

Robert Cridge, born about 1896 in Cockett, Swansea. 

Parents: Henry age 36 and Sarah Cridge, age 40, born Longstone, Derby, England. Daughters: Sarah E. age10, Annie, age 8, Eleanor age 4. Sons: Robert H. age 6 and Richad age1. They all lived at Cockett, Sketty, Swansea.1

Parents:  Henry (Head), a Brick Burner age 45, born Bridgewater, Somerset, and Sarah Cridge age 50, born London, England, married 22 years, with 7 children born alive and living.  Daughters: , Annie Cridge, at Home, age 19, Milly Cridge age 17, Alica May Cridge, at school,  age 7. Sons: Robert Cridge, a Brickmaker, age 15, Richard Cridge, at school, age 12, Charlie Cridge, at school, age 9.  Borders: Ted Pomford, a Brickyard labourer, age 24, Tid Pomford, a Brickyard labourer, age 22. All the children were born in Cockett, Swansea.  They all spoke English and lived at Bronwydd House, Fforestfach, Swansea.2

Served with the Welsh Regiment 2nd Battalion, service number (21512). Died, 26th September 1915, killed in action in France & Flanders.  Memorial panel reference, panel 77 and 78, Loos Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.3, 4 , 5 & 6
